There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s frienddaniel_on_bench_square.jpg

On August 13, 2011, our son Daniel died in a tragic accident, while hiking at Monashee Creek. When his friend Scott slipped, Daniel grabbed his hand to try to save him, but the tree Daniel had anchored himself to gave way, and tragically, both fell to their deaths.

Daniel was studying psychology at UBCO. The university has honoured him with a posthumous degree which was given to us with his graduating class in June 2012. His goal was to join the RCMP. Daniel was a Peachland Resident for the 4 years prior to his death.

In honour of his memory, we established the Daniel Lovegrove Memorial Education Fund Society

The Daniel Lovegrove Memorial Education Fund was granted Chariable status on August 20, 2012.
